- Ventilate \Ven"ti*late\, v. t. [imp. & p. p. Ventilated; p. pr. & vb. n. Ventilating.] [L. ventilatus, p. p. of ventilare to toss, brandish in the air, to fan, to winnow, from ventus wind; akin to E. wind. See Wind rushing air.]
