- Guacharo \Gua*cha"ro\, n. [Cf. Sp. gu['a]charo sickly, dropsical, guacharaca a sort of bird.] (Zool.) A nocturnal bird of South America and Trinidad ({Steatornis Caripensis}, or S. steatornis); -- called also oilbird. [1913 Webster]
