Petaurist \Pe*tau"rist\ (p[-e]*t[add]"r[i^]st), n. [L. petaurista a ropedancer, Gr. petayristh`s, fr. petayri`zein to dance on a rope, fr. pe`tayron a pole, a stage for ropedancers: cf.
