- Keta \Ke"ta\, n. [Perh. of Amer. Indian origin.] (Zool.) A small salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) of inferior value, which in the autumn runs up all the larger rivers between San Francisco and Kamchatka. [Webster 1913 Suppl.]
