  • Equisetum \Eq`ui*se"tum\, n.; pl. Equiseta. [L., the horsetail, fr. equus horse + seta a thick,, stiff hair, bristle.] (Bot.) A genus of vascular, cryptogamic, herbaceous plants; -- also called horsetails. [1913 Webster]
