- Dryobalanops \Dry`o*bal"a*nops\, n. [NL., fr. Gr. dry^s oak + ba`lanos acorn + 'o`psis appearance. The fruit remotely resembles an acorn in its cup.] (Bot.) The genus to which belongs the single species {Dryobalanops Camphora}, a lofty resinous tree of Borneo and Sumatra, yielding Borneo camphor and camphor oil. [1913 Webster]
